Monifer Carrie, Obituary, Princes Town Death – 27-Year-Old Woman Killed in Targeted Overnight Shooting; Investigation Ongoing
The community of Princes Town is grappling with shock and grief following the tragic death of Monifer Carrie, 27, of Beetham Gardens, Port of Spain, who was fatally shot in a targeted attack shortly after midnight.
According to police reports, the incident occurred around 12:05 a.m. along Malgretoute Road. Carrie was a passenger in a white Nissan Sentra driven by Isaiah Cruickshank, also known as “Touchy,” when their vehicle was suddenly intercepted. Investigators say another vehicle emerged from Manahambre Branch Road and blocked their path, after which two armed men exited and opened fire, discharging multiple rounds before fleeing the scene.
A relative who arrived shortly after the shooting discovered Carrie lying on the roadway. Emergency responders transported both victims to the Princes Town Health Facility, where Carrie was pronounced dead at approximately 12:36 a.m.
Cruickshank sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was later transferred to San Fernando General Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Authorities from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region Three, are actively pursuing leads. At this time, no arrests have been made, and the motive behind the attack remains unclear. Investigators believe the shooting may have been coordinated, but further details are still being examined.
